What’s Your Serving Size IQ? (Quiz)

Studies have shown time and again that controlling and understanding serving sizes is a crucial factor in your overall diet. Unfortunately, though, figuring out how much of something you’re supposed to eat isn’t as easy as it seems. Though most foods have nutrition labels on the package, they can be very misleading. So, what’s a healthy eater to do? Well, take it into your own hands, of course. Read on to test your knowledge of serving sizes — and let us know how you did in the comments section!

4 BIG Fat Lies about Food

Food, which modern man eats, is increasingly moving away from the concept of food

It contains mostly substitutes, flavoring and sugar, and manufacturers often manage to fool us that we take something good for you.

These Habits Will Make You FAT!
Check out some of the most common lies of the food industry:

fake blueberries

Blueberries in many cakes are made of a thick mixture of glucose-fructose syrup and flavoring

Cellulose
Many of the most delicious foods (sauces, pasta, even cheese) are filled with colored and flavored pulp. Many manufacturers use cellulose (in a veiled name) rather than essential ingredients such as flour and oil. It is inexpensive, can be eaten. It is not poisonous, but no nutritional value to the body. All of which serves to fill your belly for a bit and give you a false sense that you have eaten.
Fake Blueberries
Many cakes and pastries entice with berries (raspberries, blackberries). It is very likely; however, these berries are completely artificial. They are made of a thick mixture of glucose-fructose syrup and flavoring. Manufacturers shamelessly use pictures of real fresh blueberries on the pictures of the products.

Test: Do You Eat Healthy?
“Good for health ingredients” – a big lie
Yogurt, which improves digestive system, rejuvenates the skin and anything else.
This fashion started in the U.S. in 2002. It is difficult, however, to prove these claims because under the law there is no need to have a consensus of all scientists claim. So – the company pays a research team to establish that its product reduces the likelihood of heart disease, for example. Other tests may argue that there is no evidence for this assertion, but since consensus is not required, the company can use the labels .
Your burger is packed with ammonia
Burger meat in large chains for fast food has undergone a process of “gassing” with ammonia. The reason is that the ammonia kills any bacteria such as E.coli and others. This method was invented by the company Beef Products Inc.Initially it was used to be able to make meat of the cheapest parts of the animal. The method is so successful that currently 70% of all meat for burgers in the U.S. is made by this company.
