4 BIG Fat Lies about Food

Food, which modern man eats, is increasingly moving away from the concept of food

It contains mostly substitutes, flavoring and sugar, and manufacturers often manage to fool us that we take something good for you.

These Habits Will Make You FAT!
Check out some of the most common lies of the food industry:

fake blueberries

Blueberries in many cakes are made of a thick mixture of glucose-fructose syrup and flavoring

Cellulose
Many of the most delicious foods (sauces, pasta, even cheese) are filled with colored and flavored pulp. Many manufacturers use cellulose (in a veiled name) rather than essential ingredients such as flour and oil. It is inexpensive, can be eaten. It is not poisonous, but no nutritional value to the body. All of which serves to fill your belly for a bit and give you a false sense that you have eaten.
Fake Blueberries
Many cakes and pastries entice with berries (raspberries, blackberries). It is very likely; however, these berries are completely artificial. They are made of a thick mixture of glucose-fructose syrup and flavoring. Manufacturers shamelessly use pictures of real fresh blueberries on the pictures of the products.

Test: Do You Eat Healthy?
“Good for health ingredients” – a big lie
Yogurt, which improves digestive system, rejuvenates the skin and anything else.
This fashion started in the U.S. in 2002. It is difficult, however, to prove these claims because under the law there is no need to have a consensus of all scientists claim. So – the company pays a research team to establish that its product reduces the likelihood of heart disease, for example. Other tests may argue that there is no evidence for this assertion, but since consensus is not required, the company can use the labels .
Your burger is packed with ammonia
Burger meat in large chains for fast food has undergone a process of “gassing” with ammonia. The reason is that the ammonia kills any bacteria such as E.coli and others. This method was invented by the company Beef Products Inc.Initially it was used to be able to make meat of the cheapest parts of the animal. The method is so successful that currently 70% of all meat for burgers in the U.S. is made by this company.

10 Surprising Places Where Sugar Hides

According to recent reports, the average American consumes 43,800 more calories from sugar every year today than was done in 1977. And most of this is not intentional. Manufacturers of popular foods have found clever ways to sneak sugar and other sweeteners into all sorts of foods, including those that are already naturally sweet.

Not only can excessive sugar cause obesity, it increases your risk of hypertension and metabolic syndrome. But avoiding the sweet stuff altogether is neither possible nor necessary. All you need to know is how to spot the hiding places and make the right choices. Here are some common culprits that tend to escape our attention:

1. Breakfast smoothies
2. Low-fat salad dressings (they have less fat, but high amounts of sugar)
3. Flavored yogurt
4. Store-bought marinara sauce and barbecue sauce
5. Baked beans
6. Baked potato chips and pretzels
7. Whole-grain cereal
8. Canned soup and frozen meals
9. Snack bars and, surprise, English muffins
10. Croutons

How the manufacturers try to outsmart you:

By mentioning only the total number of grams of sugar on the label. This does not tell you what part of it is natural and how much has been added.

How to figure out the sugar content of a product:

Look at the ingredients for the word ‘sugar’ and its many aliases: high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, and ingredients ending in –ose, such as sucrose, fructose, glucose, dextrose.

More tips to beat the sweet overdose:

  • If ‘sugar’ or its aliases are listed among the first three ingredients, there’s too much of the sweet stuff. Put it back on the shelf.
  • Buy plain, low-fat yogurt and add chopped fresh fruit to it.
  • Make your own salad dressing: three parts balsamic vinegar to one part olive oil, with garlic, salt, pepper and mustard to taste.
  • Stir up your own smoothie at home, using plain yogurt or low-fat milk, ice and whole fruit.
  • If you need your sweet fix, try to eat dessert right after a balanced meal. When consumed together with other ingredients, glucose surges slowly into your bloodstream, and your energy levels stay steady.

Advanced Medical Devices: 7 Benefits Of Using Lasers In Dentistry

There are many new advances being made each day in the manufacturing of medical devices.

Manufacturers are constantly coming up with new ways to perform different medical procedures. The use of lasers in dentistry has been around for about two decades. Many dentists around the world have been using these advanced devices in their practices to enhance efficiency. The technology has a number of benefits over traditional methods, leading to an increasing number of dentists turning to the use of lasers.

Dental lasers are used to perform different procedures ranging from teeth whitening to corrective surgery. Increasing awareness has led to the popularity of the technology and there are numerous benefits for both the dentist and the patient.

1. Pain reduction

Most people dread going to the dentist because of the pain associated with the procedures. The use of lasers has introduced pain-free dental treatment, which is welcoming news to all patients. There is very little or no pain, during and after the procedures. Lasers do not produce the uncomfortable vibrations that traditional dental drills do. Patients welcome the more silent treatment and they are able to leave the dentist’s office feeling “normal”.

2. Accuracy

The use of lasers has led to accuracy in dental procedures because the laser is able to detect any change in the tooth structure. The dentist is able to detect any problem areas, long before a cavity appears. Increase in accuracy has meant that dentists are able to save patient’s teeth because problems are identified early.

3. Short recovery time

The use of lasers has led to accuracy and precision when treating teeth problems, and this leads to a shorter recovery time. There is less damage to the gum area and the dentist is able to deal with the exact source of the problem without affecting the surrounding tissue in any way. This means that there is less soreness after the procedure.

4. Less bleeding

Most people experience quite a lot of bleeding during and after some dental procedures. When lasers are used to cut into the soft tissue, the blood vessels are sealed which reduces bleeding. The tissue is also able to heal much faster where cutting of the gum is involved.

5. Speed

When lasers are used in dentistry, the procedures are completed much faster than with traditional methods. This means that the dentist is able to perform more procedures in a day. A dentist who uses lasers in his practice can see more patients in a day. This is also beneficial for patients who spend less time in the dentist’s office.

6. Comfort

When lasers are used in different procedures, there is enhanced comfort for the patient. This is usually because in most cases anesthesia is not required. Apart from being uncomfortable, anesthesia can also be dangerous for some patients. The use of laser also eliminates the need for sutures in different procedures.

The reduced noise also makes the procedures more comfortable for patients. Many people admit that the worst thing about a dental visit is the sound that the drill produces.

7. Increasing affordability

For a long time, most dentists have avoided the use of lasers in their practice due to the high costs involved. However, with increasing popularity the cost is becoming more affordable. There are many manufacturers providing the devices and the increasing competition has made them more affordable. The increased efficiency and success has also allowed the dentists to increase the amount of work they can do leading to cost efficiency. They are able to recoup the money used to purchase the laser.

While lasers are increasingly in use, it is important to note that their use is still limited. The dentists still need to use traditional methods to tackle a number of dental issues. Lasers cannot be used for procedures involving existing fillings, or preparing teeth for dental crowns. They are also not used when the cavity is between teeth. Most procedures are also still relatively expensive, leading many people to still opt for traditional treatment methods.

People react differently to various medical procedures and this includes use of lasers. It is important to consult your dentist and get all the pertinent information about laser dentistry. Carry out research and find a dentist who is highly qualified and experienced in the use of lasers if you are interested to undergo such a dental procedure with lasers involved.
