See what a doctor has to tell about the procedures which are used to treat cancer
As a physician, I see realistically what a person can achieve with these procedures, says Dr. Granger
We offer you an excerpt from the confession of Dr. Kate Granger, who was diagnosed with malignant cancer. Things seen from the perspective of a physician, but also a wife and a woman, may look quite different.
Although chemotherapy can shrink tumors, it causes the patient to become ill more and feeling worse and worse. In the case of Dr. Granger, she had developed complications that led to the failure of the bone marrow, which in turn led to immense pain. But that was not all; Kate even had to be accepted to the hospital with life-threatening infections because her immune system was weak from the treatment.
“As a physician, I see realistically what a person can achieve with these procedures. I am not on the hunt for miracles and I know that the miracle will not happen with chemotherapy. After the diagnosis life expectancy of someone with my type of cancer is around 14 months. I have until now survived for 12,” said Kate. She is only 29 years old. Dr. Granger said that in the seven years that she has been “in touch” with the medicine she had to meet repeatedly with death. “I have seen enough unnecessary pain – seriously ill people who whipped their bodies to death with various treatments and chemotherapy,” says Kate, quoted by Daily Mail.
